For the last 20 years Sue Wilsea has lived on the banks of The Humber. She retired early from teaching to write, and in 2010 was selected by the Arvon Foundation as one of nine New and Gifted Writers. In 2012, Valley Press published her short story collection Staying Afloat; subsequently she won the Vogel short story competition, and this year Looked After was long-listed for the Mslexia’s first novel award. Sue teaches part-time at Hull University and last year completed an MA in Creative Writing at Newcastle. She is half a Spoken Word performance duo with any spare time spent reacquainting herself with husband and four children.
