Robert Middleton spent much of his youth astride a horse and listening to real cowboys telling their stories. He was lucky enough to grow up where life was slow and fences were few. Together with Theodore Mason and others, Robert helped form the “Works in Progress” writer’s group. He and his wife, Denise, divide their time between Hemet, California, and Mulegé, Mexico.
