Ian Hill was a former director of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and was author of, and contributor to, numerous travel books about the island of Ireland, including Strangford: Portrait of an Irish Lough and Lough Erne. He worked as a presenter for RTE, UTV and the BBC, and contributed regularly to journals and newspapers in Belfast, Dublin and London.
