Emily Jane Bront (1818-1848), English poet and novelist, and the sister of Charlotte and Anne Bront, is best known for her only novel, Wuthering Heights, published under the pen name, Ellis Bell, in 1847, a year before Bronte's death from tuberculosis at age 30. Intricately crafted and intensely emotional, it initially met with mixed reviews, but is now considered one of English literature's finest works.
