Gordon W. Fredrickson was raised on a 120-acre dairy farm in hilly, rocky eastern Scott County, Minnesota. He served in the US Army for threeyears, earned a master's degree in education at the University of Minnesota, taught high school English, and directed plays. During the first fiveyears of his teaching career, he and his wife, Nancy, owned and farmed 160 acres in western Minnesota, where they raised cattle, hogs, and grain. Gordon and Nancy have eighteen books published by Beaver's Pond Press, St. Paul, Minnesota.
