Rachel Ward was born in Surrey. After university, she worked in local government in a variety of roles. She has two grown up children and lives in Bath with her husband and two dogs. Rachel writes cozy crime novels and thrillers for young adults and adults, and also psychological thrillers (as R. M. Ward). Her YA debut, Numbers, was published in 26 countries and won several awards in the UK and abroad. Her cozy crime series for adults, The Supermarket Mysteries, set in and around a supermarket in a small town, starts with The Missing Checkout Girl Mystery.
