Jade was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee. With six brothers, two sisters and numerous dogs and cats, life at home had an inevitable chaotic style. At age sixteen, Jade and her family moved to Tampa, Florida. She enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduating from high school. Boot camp followed by three years at Quantico, Virginia, taught Jade more about discipline than she really wanted to know. Later, after her tour with the marines ended, Jade moved to White Bear Lake, Minnesota, where her sister, Jean, lived with her race-car driver husband. She and her sister were the only family members to decide that snow and ice beat sand and sun. She now lives in a small suburban community called Gem Lake. It lies between the larger town of White Bear Lake and the city of St. Paul. Jade lives half a block from a golf course, which allows her to pursue her second favorite hobby as frequently as time away from her writing allows. Jade's favorite way to waste time is watching Star Trek movies with her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. When weather permits, Jade and her granddaughter take long walks by the lake with Beagle Bailey, the family pet. If life were perfect, Jade says, she'd have a Prince Charming to share the beautiful Minnesota summers and the horrible Minnesota winters. In the meantime, Jade plans on scattering glass slippers throughout the state. And hoping for the best.
