The Strange Side of War: A Woman's WWI Diary is taken from Sarah Macnaughtan's personal records of events as she saw them unfold. Her views and patriotism are from a British stance. She had the unique opportunity to experience World War I from several cultural and political aspects during her attempts to alleviate the suffering in Belgium, France, Russia, and Persia (as Iran was known at that time).
