Janis Williams has been writing poems, songs and stories since she was a young child. Recently retired from a 34 year teaching career, she now has the time to pursue her talents and interests with vigor, These interests include songwriting (music and lyrics) and writing Children's Books. Janis is able to draw from her teaching experience to see through the eyes and minds of young children. She is able to project love and warmth through her work as a single parent who has raised a son and a daughter. She has vivid memories of growing up on an island in the Puget Sound where, as a creative soul with her guitar in hand, she composed songs about life and love, Besides writing, Janis loves to draw and doodle. In her first book, If I Were a Cow (or a Pig or a Hen), her doodle designs are embedded in many of the illustrations. Currently, Janis resides in her little house in Tacoma with her black poodle and spotted cat.
