James A. Eggebeen, has published an impressive series of novels, novellas and short stories but only fell into writing by accident. He always wrote from a young age, but it was when he was disillusioned by an intended college course in poetry that and managed to switch to creative writing class at the last minute. He was bitten by the fiction bug and hasn't looked back since. His Apprentice to Master series has been wowing readers for the past six years, as have his other works, but James is not content to rest on his laurels. Born from humble beginnings and ethos of hard work in a Dutch farming community in Wisconsin, James served in the Navy and then worked as an executive in the high tech sector. But it was when his wife spent three months abroad that he really knuckled down and his writing career soared. Steeped in the Epic Fantasy journey since he read Pierce Anthony's On a Pale Horse the South Californian based author has twelve books under his belt. Having reached the mellow age of sixty James is working on writing as his retirement career but his life is not one-dimensional. He plans to keep up his his primary career working from home as a programmer, something he says helps avoid the daily commute on clogged Californian roads. Despite the image of a writer being a lonely career, James has met many new friends through writing groups and has even travelled widely, including visiting his editor in the UK. He is active in several writer's groups in Southern California and loves working with new writers to help them along on their journey. With his next series of novels already plotted out James goal is simply to keep writing, and he shows no sign of stopping!
