BEN ELLIS is an experienced writer for stage and screen. Ben's play Falling Petals has been produced widely throughout Australia and New Zealand, won him the New York City Wal Cherry Award for Best New Dramatist, and was shortlisted for the Victoria Premier's Award. He won the Patrick White Playwright Award and the Malcolm Robertson Prize for his play Post Felicity, and was shortlisted for both the NSW and QLD Premiers' Awards for his play These People. His writing for Headlong's Decade project in London directed by Rupert Goold, was singled out by The Wall Street Journal as a standout piece alongside others by Abi Morgan, Mike Bartlett and Christopher Shinn. Other collaboratively written theatre projects include Life for Beginners, Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover and 360 Positions in a One Night Stand. He was awarded 2015's Writer-in-Residence at the Langham, London. His other produced plays include The Armour, Going Bush, Bird (co-written with Nikki Williams), What Will Survive Us, Story of the Red Mountains.
