John Gilmore was born and raised in Hollywood. His varied career included a spell as child actor, stage and motion picture player, poet, screenwriter, low-budget film director, and a journalist, until he found his calling as a true-crime writer and novelist. John Gilmore has headed the writing program at Antioch University, and has taught and lectured extensively. He currently divides his time between his native Los Angeles and New Mexico.
