Tad Tuleja is a writer and retired university teacher who holds a Ph.D. in folklore from the University of Texas at Austin. The author of thirty books, he has published works on history, literature, anthropology, children's folklore, music, and slang. His poems have appeared in Urthona, The Road Not Taken, Adirondack Review, and other journals. Under the musical alias Skip Yarrow, Tuleja has released two EPs: he performs his songs on www.skipyarrow.com and on You Tube. Hesperides the Aarborg, which began fifty years ago as a bedtime story for his four-year-old son, is his first children's book. It reflects his longstanding affection for animal fables and for the landscape of the American Southwest, where he lives with his wife and songwriting partner Andrée Nolen.
