Born on 5 December 1922 in Glasgow, Scotland, painter and esotericist Benjamin Creme dedicated much of his life to preparing the world for the most extraordinary event in human history - the return to the everyday world of our spiritual mentors, the Spiritual Hierarchy of Masters with at Their head Maitreya, the World Teacher. Working under the tutelage of one of the Masters of Wisdom, Benjamin Creme dedicated the last 40 years of his life to this work and in doing so inspired hundreds of thousands of people across the world. He began his public mission in 1974 and lectured worldwide from 1979 onwards, only finally stopping at the age of 91. Benjamin Creme appeared on television, radio and in documentary films worldwide and lectured throughout Western and Eastern Europe, the USA, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico. His books, 17 in total, have been translated into many languages. He was also the founding editor of Share International magazine, launched in 1982; it is circulated in over 70 countries. He brought hope to the millions who have heard and been touched by the news of the imminent emergence of the World Teacher, and the consequent transformation of the world by the creation of justice and peace, through sharing. Benjamin Creme lived in London where he died on 24 October 2016.
