Ashira grew up in South East Michigan, just west of Ann Arbor. Growing up, when she wasn't out on her family's boat, she was reading, writing or both. She met her husband through a mutual friend, and they currently live with their three kids, two cats and crazy dog just over an hour south of gorgeous Traverse City, in picturesque Central Northern Michigan.
