Lady Pamela Hicks is the daughter of Earl Mountbatten of Burma, most famously known for his role in history as the last viceroy of India. In 1947 she was a bridesmaid at the wedding of her cousins Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth II) and Prince Philip, the duke of Edinburgh. She is the author of India Remembered: A Personal Account of the Mountbattens During the Transfer of Power.
