William Kurelek (1927-1977) was an internationally acclaimed artist and writer born and raised on the Prairies. Described by the New York Times as “the North American Brueghel,” his award-winning children's books include A Prairie Boy's Winter, Lumberjack, A Prairie Boy's Summer, and A Northern Nativity.
