Rita Hestand was born in Corpus Christi, Texas just after WWII. Her father was a pipeliner, her mother a hair dresser. So as a child Rita traveled to almost all the states. She never went to school in the same place over a few weeks, giving her a lot of experience as the new kid on the block. Also an inborn ability to survive with God's help.
She became a widow in 2006. Havng two daughters, she now has seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
That's where similarities stop, as Rita became a drop out in high school, learning the tricks of the trade the hard way. But despite years of rejections, Rita persisted. In fact, she became a master at persistance, which has led her to moderte sucess as a writer, of which she earned by the skin of her teeth. Nothing came easy, but much easier to remember because of it.
Rita lives in a senior community now, but she hasn't stopped writing, and she doesn't plan on it. She's happily retired and writing up a storm, so watch for her new releases....Raining in My Heart (a new contemporary series) Mail Order Nanny and a new western Ask No Tomorrows!
