Originally a city girl, Leonie Knight grew up in Perth, Western Australia which is famous for its endless sunshine, clean air and laid-back lifestyle. Her career as a published author began at age fifteen when she was fortunate enough to have an enthusiastic English teacher introduce her to the wonderful world of fiction and writing. The end result was a published, prize winning poem in the school magazine... and an enduring desire to write.
Once her boys were grown and left home and the demands of her day job lessened, Leonie found she had more time to devote to the things she loved - gardening, walking, cycling, reading and of course, writing. Having spent most of her adult life working in first a suburban, then a rural general medical practice, combined with the inspiration she got from her real-life hero, it is only natural that the stories Leonie wrote were medical romances.
Sadly Leonie passed away in December 2011. She was a lovely writer with a burgeoning talent. The publication of Leonie's first book, Suddenly Single Sophie, was the realisation of a long-held dream and she was a wonderful addition to the Medical series. Her last title, The Doctor, His Daughter and Me, was completed just before her death.
Her kindness and creativity touched everyone she worked with and she will be much missed by fellow authors, editors and readers around the world.
