Sydney-born in 1919, Eric Aarons was educated at Melbourne and Sydney High Schools, Sydney University and Alexander Mackie Teachers' College. At various times in his life he has been boot repairer, research chemist, political functionary (apparatchik), teacher, journalist, a secretary of the Communist Party of Australia, and sculptor with major works at Art Galleries in Broken Hill, Casula and Campbelltown.
