At 14 years of age, Wendy created her first children's book, a simple lift-the-flap counting book as a school project that her teacher "hated, because her grandchildren made her read it over and over". Wendy has worked and volunteered with children for over 20 years and hopes to pass her love of reading on to future generations.Wendy grew up in country NSW, and although she has lived in the city since her late teens, her country upbringing is evident in her work.Apart from her work with children, writing, and publishing, she enjoys playing music, singing, and being involved in local community theatre.
