Double BAFTA winner GF Newman has written a dozen+ novels, as many television films, plus 27 feature-length teleplays Judge John Deed, which he created and produced. His debut novel, Sir, You Bastard, was a cause célèbre; following his television debut, the mini-series, Law & Order, Members of Parliament called for his prosecution for sedition; his debut stage-play Operation: Bad Apple was another cause célèbre. He wrote and created BBC Radio 4’s longest running drama series, 58 plays from his novel, The Corrupted, a fictional ‘history’ of the crime-business-politics nexus from the 1950s to the bank crash of 2008. His last previous novel is in the Judge John Deed series, Guilty – Until Proven Otherwise; his latest is Merry Christmas! He has completed three novels since then, No Way Back about people trafficked to New York for their organs; The Heart a thriller about heart transplant, and Merry Christmas! a reimagined modern version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, none of which has yet been offered for sale.
