Lytton Smith is the author of WHILE YOU WERE APPROACHING THE SPECTABLE BUT BEFORE YOU WERE TRANSFORMED BY IT (Nightboat Books, 2013) and THE ALL-PURPOSE MAGICAL TENT (Nightboat Books, 2009), which won the Nightboat Poetry Books Poetry Prize. He's also the translator of several books from the Icelandic. The novel Öræfi--The Wastelands, from the Icelandic of Ófeigur Sigurðsson, was published by Deep Vellum in 2018. He is Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing at SUNY Geneseo.
