Adolfo Bioy Casares (1914–1999) was an Argentine writer. A friend and collaborator of Jorge Luís Borges, he is the author of The Invention of Morel and Asleep in the Sun, both available from NYRB. In 1990 he won the Premio Miguel de Cervantes.
Valerie Miles is a writer, editor, and translator of Spanish and Catalán. A co-founding director of Spanish Granta, she is the author of A Thousand Forests in One Acorn, and her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Paris Review, Harper’s, and The New Yorker. She teaches at Pompeu Fabra University and lives in Barcelona.
Daniel Martino is an editor and an expert on Adolfo Bioy Casares, who he befriended in Casares’s later life.
