Bill Smith received a Bachelor of Arts from Towson University, studied law at the University of Maryland School of Law, and computer and information science at University of Maryland University College. He began his career in communications with Presentation of Washington, specializing in multi-image slide shows, and founded Telescript DC in 1990. His eco-fiction novel, Tanaki on the Shore, was published in 2006 by The Portal Press.
