Wendy Meddour, when she is not lecturing at Exeter University, writes and illustrates award-winning children's books. Her debut, A Hen in the Wardrobe, was shortlisted for the Branford Boase Award and she has gone on to publish fifteen children's books that have been translated into twenty-plus languages. She is author of the internationally bestselling Wendy Quill series, illustrated by her daughter, Mina May (then only 9), but has become best known for tackling difficult subjects with "warmth and sensitivity" as shown in her UKLA Award longlisted picture book Lubna and Pebble.
