Michael H. Moffett is the Continental Grain Professor of Finance at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona (USA). Formerly Associate Professor of Finance at Oregon State University (USA), he has held teaching or research appointments at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (USA), the Brookings Institution, Washington, D.C. (USA), the University of Hawaii at Manoa, the Aarhus School of Business (Denmark), the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration (Finland), the International Centre for Public Enterprises (Yugoslavia), and the University of Colorado, Boulder (USA). Professor Moffett's primary areas of teaching and research expertise are in multinational financial management, focusing on the multitude of strategic and organizational decisions directly related to the commitment and management of cash flow and investment capital in creating and managing value formation. Professor Moffett received a BA (Economics) from the University of Texas at Austin (1977), an MS (Resource Economics) from Colorado State University (1979), an MA (Economics) from the University of Colorado, Boulder (1983), and PhD (Economics) from the University of Colorado, Boulder (1985). Dr. Moffett has authored, co-authored, or contributed to a multitude of journal articles, books and other publications. He is co-author of several books in multinational business and finance, as well as the author of more than 50 case studies in international business, strategy, and financial management. Professor Moffett has acted as a consultant and educator for many global businesses.
