Johnson is the author of Market vs. Medicine and the respected biweekly blog, Market Corner Commentaries. He is the author-in-residence at MATTER, a Chicago-based healthcare incubator, a frequent speaker on healthcare transformation, and serves on the board or as an advisor to multiple healthcare companies and nonprofit organizations. He holds a master's degree in public policy from Harvard University.
