Karren K. Kearney is a retired L.V.N (Licensed Vocational Nurse) with twenty-five years in mental health, and an R.A.S. (Registered Addiction Specialist) with over a decade working as a counselor in alcohol and drug treatment long-term inpatient facilities, as well as day treatment centers. She has been in 12-step recovery for over thirty-two years, and her first book, The Unseen Side of Me, A Journey from Disgrace to Grace, details her struggles and recovery from food addiction, alcoholism, sex and love addiction, Adult Children of Alcoholics, and co-dependency. Her sophomore book continues the story of her recovery in 12-step programs, and was written to show others that it is possible to have intimacy in recovery. Healing relationships are possible if you are willing to do the work. Ms. Kearney currently resides in Northern California with her husband, Patrick J. Kearney, an author in his own right on the history and bibliography of erotic literature, and the editor of her books, and her ten-year-old Russian Blue cat, Fergie. Among Ms. Kearney's favorite pastimes is taking drives through the Russian River resort area in Guerneville, California, to the Pacific Ocean, and listening to artists like Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones. She loves contact with her readers and you can find her on Facebook or email her at kkearney@sonic.net.
