Robert J. Trout has been a dedicated student of the Civil War for over thirty years. He has a particular interest in J. E. B. Stuart and his cavalry and has also written Galloping Thunder: The Stuart Horse Artillery Battalion and With Pen and Saber: The Letters and Diaries of J. E. B. Stuart's Staff Officers.
