Rochelle Ward (Faizah Tabasamu) is a St. Martin poet, teacher, and blogger. She holds a BA in English and Communications from Pace University and an MSc in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies (UWI). Ward has has recited her poetry at demonstrations, slams, concerts, and literary festivals in Anguilla, Dominica, St. Martin, Nevis, and on YouTube. Her poems encompass womanhood, Caribbean nostalgia and culture, and the urgency to preserve and engage in nature. Most of Ward's writings have appeared under the name Faizah Tabasamu. Her writings have appeared in the anthology Where I See the Sun - Contemporary Poetry in St. Martin (2013) and in The Daily Herald, trulycaribbean.net, mnialive.com, bajanreporter.com, and repeatingislands.com. Ward is the curator of her blog saltfish & Lace, on which she also writes about hair and beauty care, Caribbean lifestyle and fashion, the environment, and reviews books. Awards and honors include the Hilary Becker Poetry Award and a Catapult Lockdown Virtual Salon grant. Tangle is the first book by Rochelle Ward.
