Maureen Carroll is a Reader in Roman Archaeology at the University of Sheffield and was previously a Senior Field Archaeologist at the Romisch-Germanisches Museum in Cologne. She is the author of many books and papers on Roman death and commemoration, Roman gardens and Roman Gaul and Germany.
