Sir Walter Bodmer is one of the world's most distinguished human geneticists and former president of the Human Genome Organisation (Hugo). He has been a professor at Stanford University, Professor of Genetics at Oxford University and Director General of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. He is now Principal of Hertford College, Oxford and a Foreign Associate of the US National Academy of Sciences.
