Jennifer Gold was born in Zimbabwe, grew up in Swansea, Wales, and lived for a number of years in Buffalo, NY, USA. She now lives in Clovelly, Devon, UK. Her radio essays have won Associated Press awards. Her children's book Top Leaf, in addition to the starred Kirkus Review noted above, made it to the Kirkus Best Indie Books of 2018 list. Gold's other children's book, Yes! I Knew the Queen!, includes a letter from the office of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Kensington Palace.
