Since the turn of the century John Devaney has been one of the world's most authoritative and prolific writers on the sport of Australian football. Between 2001 and 2011 he compiled and edited the single biggest online resource for Australian football yet created. Entitled "Full Points Footy", the website delved into all aspects of the game's Australia-wide history, containing 3.5 million words of text, together with numerous statistics, illustrations and interactive content. Only the AFL's official website attracted more readers. Devaney has also written numerous books about the history of the code which include copious amounts of material unavailable elsewhere.
