Mikhail Lermontov, born in 1814 in Moscow, is celebrated as one of Russia's most significant Romantic poets and writers. His upbringing was marked by tragedy and familial strife, particularly after the death of his mother when he was just three years old. Raised by his strict and controlling grandmother, Lermontov's early years were shaped by loneliness and introspection, which later fueled his creative work. His experiences, including his travels to the Caucasus, left a lasting imprint on his poetry, where themes of nature, fate, and human struggle are prominent.Lermontov's literary career took off with his poignant and often satirical poetry, which earned him both admiration and notoriety.
