Kate Williams spent her childhood in London, next door to a cat, a tortoise and some terrapins. She later moved to Bristol – in earshot of the zoo – and now lives in the rolling farmland of Wales, surrounded by baas, moos and cock-a-doodle-do’s.
She meets some interesting creatures on her school poetry visits, too. Snakes in a classroom? Quite normal. Kate is in her top comfort zone when crafting poems for young readers and listeners. Her poetry has contributed to numerous children's anthologies, with publishers such as Macmillan, Bloomsbury, Hodder, Dorling Kindersley and Oxford University Press.
