I grew up in the North East of England in a family that loved telling stories and making music. By the time I left school I had decided to be both a writer and the lead singer in a rock band. I never got to be a rock star, but happily I did get to be a writer. Most of my stories are make-believe, but others are true - like the time I really did dig up a skeleton in the garden! Being a writer is exciting, especially when a new character unexpectedly arrives in my mind and sparks off a new story. It's then that the fun begins...
