Richard Phillips was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He qualified as an Army Ranger and served in the US Army for more than a decade. He received a master’s degree in physics from the Naval Postgraduate School and completed his thesis work at Los Alamos National Laboratory. After that, he served as a research officer at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory before completing his service with the army. His military and technological background sparked his passion for powerful science fiction storytelling with a futuristic flair. He is also the bestselling author of the novels Once Dead, Dead Wrong, The Second Ship, Immune, and Wormhole. Today, he resides in Phoenix with his wife, Carol.
