Lake Erie is like my old friend. I have returned to it for comfort at many times in my life. I have spent hours on its shores collecting beach glass as well as sorting through my thoughts. I love taking in the sounds of its powerful waves crashing into the cliffs and shorelines for they drown out the echoes of hurtful voices that have haunted me from my past. I grew up near it shores and my daughter is now doing the same. I have been a dancer, photographer, school teacher and now a writer. I have written several books on the healing process that takes place after abuse, on the self-discovery that takes place during restoration and on the importance of self care after toxic relationships. In addition, I have written humorous books with my daughter to make my students laugh and to help us move on from difficult places and enjoy life with a bit of sparkle.
