Michael Hill was born in the Home Counties and educated at a local grammar school. After National Service, he studied Anthropology at London University before switching to a Graphic Design Course at the London College of Printing. He then practiced freelance Graphics until finally appointed Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design at Kingston University.
