Rodger loved to write stories for adults as well as children. He moved to Bowen with his wife just three years before he passed away. He was enchanted by the island and its people, inspiring him to write this adventure set on Bowen. While there are no villians on Bowen, to create a good story, he invented some. Several of the amusing characters are based on one, or a composite, of the island's colorful residents.
