Alex Alvarez is currently Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Northern Arizona University. He is also the director of the Martin-Springer Institute for Teaching the Holocaust, Tolerance, and Humanitarian Values. He has extensively researched and published on the causes and consequences of both collective and interpersonal violence and has served as the associate editor for the peer reviewed journal VIOLENCE AND VICTIMS. His book, GOVERNMENT, CITIZENS, AND GENOCIDE: A COMPARATIVE AND INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH, was published by Indiana University Press in 2001.
