Richard Wagner (1952-2023) was born near Timisoara in 1952. He was a member of the 'Aktionsgruppe Banat', which sought to provide a critique of the Ceausescu regime from the left, until it was broken up by the Securitate. He emigrated to West Germany in 1987.
