Richard Hughes lectured on Literature at the University of London and was a fellow at the Royal Society of Literature, and an honorary member of both the National Institute and the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Hughes was born in Weybridge, London and educated at Charterhouse and Oriel College, Oxford. Hughes' first published article, an answer to Alec Waugh's book The Loom of Youth appeared in Spectator' in 1917. Hughes was a great Writer and Scholar. He actively cooperated with Dr. T. F. Allen to compile his Encyclopedia and rendered immeasurable aid to Dr Dudgeon in translating Hahnemann's Materia Medica Pura into English.
