Cindy was born in the small beach town of Ventura, California. The beach and the ocean were her playground. As a young woman, Cindy's parents moved to Kauai, Hawaii. During many visits to the island and walks along the island's rugged, lava bluffs, her love of sea turtles was born. Now, Cindy is a 6th grade Language Arts teacher who shares her love of sea turtles with her students. She has been teaching for over sixteen years, and she frequently receives sea turtle figurines from her students as gifts. Cindy's life-long ambition and dream of writing a children's book about sea turtles finally came to a reality due to the continual encouragement and support from her family and her husband, Jimi.
