William Dow Turner grew up in the Chicago area, and studied economics at Brown University and finance at the Columbia Business School. Bill then spent nearly four decades as a banker and management consultant, helping clients deal with the challenges of evolving financial markets around the world. Retiring to board work and special projects in 2007 has provided time to research and pull together the story of his great grandfather as told here. Bill and his wife Paula live in Snowmass Village, Colorado, and have two grown sons, a grandson, and their dog Sophie.
