Book 3
THE TINGALINGS are a cast of five loveable characters - Braveling, Sparkling, Darling, Smartling and Bumbling -who promote kindness and climate change awareness. Using one character and one adventure at a time, the series gently opens young eyes to climate change's extensive reach, with easy ideas for ways to reduce our carbon output at home.
The series launched in November 2020 with DARLING SAVES A KOALA BEAR, following Darling's adventure to save koala bears from the wildfires ravaging their home. Next in April 2021 came BRAVELING SAVES A SNOW LEOPARD. Then third up is 'kind, wise, calm' Smartling's ocean adventure, which exposes the impact of waste on ocean habitats. The weighty reality of sea pollution is toned down for young minds by each story's happy outcome, Jenny Wren's delightful illustrations, sing-song text and ideas for simple climate solutions that the whole family can adopt.
The Tingalings are playing in the park when they are visited by a distressed seagull who has flown from the coast to give an important message - a baby sea turtle is trapped in plastic waste and needs rescuing. The Tingalings jump to action! Fun facts are provided on oceans and sea turtles. A must have for all inquisitive children.

Book 4
It's Sparkling's jungle-themed birthday party. Magic twinkles have transformed the Tingalings' den into a truly magical party venue, full of glitz, glamour and gold. Everyone is having so much fun when Darling notices Tiger's Dad arrive looking worried and sad. Tiger is asked to leave the party as their home has been destroyed by Earthlings and so they need to find somewhere new to survive. Sparkling wants to help and so the party comes to an end and the Tingalings travel with Tiger and his Dad to find a new home in the jungle.
Bumbling wonders why the jungle is reducing in size and realises that Earthlings are using the trees to make things. Bumbling comes up with a great idea and asks Earthlings to plant four trees for every tree they chop down. Across the land, Earthlings start planting seeds in their gardens, watering them every day and watching them grow into beautiful plants. The jungles start growing back and Tiger returns home with his Dad to live happily with all his jungle friends.

Book 5
The Tingalings are having a pyjama day - playing with their toys, relaxing and watching TV. Bumbling is feeling a little down in the dumps and is watching a TV programme about a polar bear's ice home that has disappeared and fallen into the sea. Bumbling wonders why this is happening and so reads lots of books and searches the internet for the answer. It appears that Earthlings are buying loads of new toys and then throwing them away after they've finished with them. These toys are made in factories that produce bad fumes, trapping the sun's heat and melting the ice away. Bumbling creates a "super sharing machine" that monitors how many times Earthlings share their toys, with prizes for the super sharers. Earthlings respond in full and the ice caps return. The polar bear goes home.
Fun facts are provided on ice caps and polar bears, including a map of the world showing where polar bears live. A must have for all inquisitive children!

In "Darling Saves A Koala Bear", the Tingalings are on holiday and having a Tingtastic time! Whilst eating yummy ice cream sundaes and playing on the beach, a ghastly smell catches Smartling's attention. With smoke billowing from the nearby forest, the Tingalings jump to action and use their super powers to stop the fire. In an act of kindness, Darling thinks of cuddly koala bears, trapped high up in the trees and not able to escape. Together the Tingalings come up with a clever plan to scoop up their cuddly friends and deliver them to safety.
Bumbling, a shy and indecisive creature has a special talent: thinking about the big picture! Bumbling wonders what caused the fire and realizes that fumes from planes and cars are trapping the sun's rays and heating the earth. So Bumbling proposes a fantastic solution to mini Earthlings: ride bikes more, go on fun hikes, and encourage Mum and Dad to share the car more. Earthling heroes respond in full. The forest fires vanish and trees recover. The koala bear thanks Darling with a big hug!
