CS No 37
GGBP first published this title in 2006, and we are delighted to be re-publishing it now.
The New Mistress at the Chalet School tells the story of Kathy Ferrars' first term. Elinor Brent-Dyer is always good when she is 'in the Staff Room' and this is a really brilliant story from that perspective. Kathie brushes up against Mary-Lou, since she has been told by her aunt not to be too familiar, and it takes an almost-accident for her to realise what her relationships with the seniors should be. She also learns to deal with those members of Inter V who still have a Middles outlook on life - particularly Margot Maynard and Heather Clayton. And then there is the question of Yseult Pertwee.
The Armade paperback had major cuts.
Adrianne Fitzpatrick has written a short story for this new edition, 'Justice and Mercy'.

CS No 45
Jack Lambert arrives at the CS and is shown the ropes by her dormitory prefect, Len Maynard. Always full of questions, Jack considers Len is the best person to answer them, and Len keeps an eye on her. Jack gets into many scrapes, and when one joke goes horribly wrong, Jack is in real trouble, but Len comes to the rescue. Len shows her leadership in other ways too - when the school heating system breaks down and when her triplet sister Margot brings her problems.
The Armada paperback had minor, frequent, cuts.
Lisa Townsend, author of A Difficult Term for the Chalet School, has written a short story, 'Margot Wins Through'.
