From the award-winning author of the Bad Boys of Red Hook series, a new novel about finding love where you least expect it…
Jackson Sullivan III has always lived up to his uncle’s expectations, until his career is sidelined, leaving him lost and in need of a retreat to his family’s cabin. But his solitude is interrupted by a beautiful visitor whose combative feelings about the Sullivans lead Jax to a surprising declaration: he pretends to be someone else.
Though she hasn’t seen the privileged scion since she was a child, Kendall Watkins hates everything Jackson Sullivan represents. She should know: her parents have managed the Sullivan estate for years. In need of her own peace and quiet, she heads to the cabin, never expecting to come face to face with the most handsome man she’s ever met. Soon stranded by a violent nor’easter, Jax and Kendall end up sharing more than they dreamed. But Jax knows that when the storm clears, his true identity will be revealed, and Kendall will be left with a betrayal that may be too great to forgive…
HOME TO YOU is an entertaining story about two people going through some major changes in their lives. Kendall has just lost her job and been dumped after a twelve year relationship and she decides to go back home to her small town of Harmony, New Hampshire. It’s one the worst days of her life and all she wants to do is escape and spend some time by herself. As if losing her job and boyfriend isn’t enough, her car breaks down on the way to her destination. When Jack sees the stranded car near his cabin, he offers his help. Jack is recovering from a skiing accident where he suffered a concussion and he hasn’t been the same since. He’s hiding out trying to figure out his life. He’s a rich and powerful man and he’s been consumed with making money and being successful. He doesn’t have a personal life, he’s put all his energy into his career and now he’s questioning the choices he’s made.
This is an entertaining story with characters I could easily relate to and I love all the chemistry between Jack and Kendall. My only complaint is at times, the story is a little slow. Jack stole my heart. Even though he’s rich, he’s a nice, down to earth guy. He’s dealing with a lot of his own personal stuff, yet he always puts Kendall first. Kendall is exactly what Jack needs. When he is with her, Jack learns how to be a different person and Kendall opens up a whole new world to him. Jack and Kendall immediately click but they each have issues they are dealing with and it gets in the way of their relationship. Kendall is trying to get past her hurt and figure out what to do next in her life. She also has to realize Jack is nothing like her ex. Jack and Kendall have some important decisions to make. Will those decisions include the two of them being together
